President Medvedev openly shared with President Yushchenko the former's “deep concern with the present situation, what can without exaggeration be called a crisis in Russian-Ukrainian relations.”

Given that the situation around Russian-Ukrainian international relations “attracts the attention of citizens of Russia and Ukraine and directly affects their daily lives and futures,” Mr Medvedev found it necessary to make this address to Mr Yushchenko public.
