On August 10, 2009, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov was discharged from Moscowґs Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery, where he was treated following the attack on his life on June 22 near Nazran. At that time, an explosive-laden car blew up as the President of Ingushetiaґs motorcade passed by. Mr Yevkurov was seriously wounded in the explosion. To date Prime Minister of Ingushetia Rashid Gaisanov has been Acting President of the Republic of Ingushetia.
