Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences following the death of Igor Fesunenko.
In his message to Mr Fesunenko’s family, the President said, in particular:
“Igor Fesunenko belonged to the constellation of outstanding, truly legendary names in Russian journalism, talented, creative and passionate people. His reports from various corners of the globe, radio and television programmes, and his highly readable books were talented, original, and always drew genuine interest.
Mr Fesunenko’s bright memory will always live on in the hearts of his loved ones, colleagues, friends, students and all who knew this wonderful man.”
A Soviet and Russian journalist specialising in international affairs, television host, political commentator, writer, and teacher at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Mr Fesunenko passed away on April 28, aged 83.
