The President’s message reads, in part:

“Following the successful conclusion of the search operation for the cargo ship Arctic Sea, I want to express our sincere gratitude to you personally and all of the relevant authorities in your country for your assistance in organising the return home of the ship’s Russian crew, and also transportation to Moscow of the vessel’s hijackers.

I think that this example of successful teamwork will not only help to broaden cooperation in fighting piracy and international organised crime, but will also help to develop the full range of friendly ties between Russia and Cape Verde.”
