The President wished a Happy Day of Knowledge to all schoolchildren beginning classes on September 1, emphasising that today education has become the main foundation for a successful career and a normal and decent life in every sense.

The President called on everyone to learn to better understand one another and to take care of Russia – an enormous and unique place, a country inhabited by over 180 ethnic groups with a common history and a common future. Dmitry Medvedev stated that in order for Russia to flourish, these different groups must live in unity and harmony.
