Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Early Termination of Mandate of the Head of the Republic of Mari El.
Following a request from Head of the Republic of Mari El Leonid Markelov to step down ahead of term, in accordance with the Federal Law On General Principles for Organising Legislative (Representative) and Executive Bodies of State Power of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation, the President accepted Mr Markelov’s resignation.
Mr Putin signed another Executive Order appointing Alexander Yevstifeyev Acting Head of Mari El until an elected head takes office.
