The President will take part in the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of State on June 8–9 in Astana.
The summit participants will examine the SCO’s current activity and adopt the important decision to accord India and Pakistan the status of full-fledged SCO member states.
They will also examine various aspects of cooperation within the SCO on regional security, deepening trade and economic cooperation and promoting humanitarian ties, and will exchange views on current international issues.
Vladimir Putin will also hold bilateral meetings with a number of the leaders at the event and take part in the Astana EXPO 2017 opening ceremony.
