June 29, 2017

Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his 60th birthday and awarded him the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

The President said, in particular, in his message:

“You enjoy deserved authority among your compatriots and abroad. Under your leadership, Turkmenistan is making steady progress in its socioeconomic development and pursues a constructive and peaceful foreign policy course.

It would be hard to overestimate your personal contribution to developing the strategic partnership between our countries and to strengthening security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region.

I am sure that our upcoming talks in Ashgabat will facilitate further expansion of our cooperation on the bilateral, regional and international agendas.”

Vladimir Putin also signed an executive order awarding Mr Berdimuhamedov the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his great personal contribution to strengthening relations between Russia and Turkmenistan and guaranteeing stability and security in the Central Asian region.
