Vladimir Putin will visit Primorye Territory on September 5–8

The President will make a working trip to Primorye Territory on September 5–8 to take part in the 3rd Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

The Forum’s main purpose is to expand cooperation between Russian and foreign business partners and promote business integration into the Far East economy.

Mr Putin will visit an exhibition on the priority development zones established in the Far East on September 5 and will launch operations at a number of new enterprises in the region via video linkup.

On September 6, the President will chair a State Council Presidium meeting on the Far East’s comprehensive socioeconomic development.

The President will also meet with business community representatives taking part in this year’s EEF and will discuss current issues concerning business in the region and the prospects for investment projects in the Far East with foreign capital involved.

On the same day, Mr Putin will hold talks with President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in, who will be in Russia on a working visit.

On September 7, the President will address the EEF plenary session to share his vision of the outlook for cooperation in the Far East, explain Russia’s policy regarding regional economic integration, particularly in the context of establishing a greater Eurasian space, and give his assessment of the greatest political challenges and threats in the Asia-Pacific region.

The President will have bilateral meetings on the Forum’s sidelines with the leaders of Japan and Mongolia, with whom he will exchange views on current matters on the bilateral and international agendas.

Mr Putin, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga will take part in a ceremony to hand over to the students and staff at the Far East Federal University time capsules for the future Martial Arts Palace, and will attend the final of the Jigoro Kano International Judo Competition at the Fetisov Arena Concert and Sports Complex.

On September 8, the President will visit the Zvezda Shipyard (in the town of Bolshoy Kamen), where he will look over the enterprise’s current and upcoming projects.

The President will hold a working meeting with Governor of Primorye Territory Vladimir Miklushevsky during the trip.

September 4, 2017
