Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the VI St Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
The message reads, in part:
“Today we can say with confidence that your forum has won recognition and has become a respected platform for a direct and concerned dialogue on current development issues in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. This is extremely important, considering that culture has a unique unifying and educational mission and is responsible for developing high spiritual, moral and artistic standards and for preserving our historical memory. It is also instrumental in strengthening interaction between nations and cultures.
It is notable that the forum’s agenda includes a conference called Culture in Revolution. Revolution in Culture. 1917–2017. I am confident that you will hold professional discussions at the expert level on a broad range of issues related to these landmark events that marked a turning point in the history of Russia and influenced the rest of the world.”
