Greetings to the international research conference Human Rights Protection in the Eurasian Space: Exchange of Best Practices by Human Rights Commissioners

December 5, 2017

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants in the international research conference Human Rights Protection in the Eurasian Space: Exchange of Best Practices by Human Rights Commissioners, held in Moscow at the initiative of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation.

The message reads, in part:

“Today, integration and cooperation processes are actively developing in the Eurasian space, alongside the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral trade, economic, investment and humanitarian ties. People-to-people contacts are becoming increasingly important.

Against this backdrop, establishing dialogue between human rights commissioners is a timely initiative that should be high on the agenda. It is obvious that the protection of human rights and freedoms, ensuring social, labour, migration and other rights calls for effective international cooperation. It is thus important to regularly exchange best practices and information, which could pave the way to a single database on matters related to human rights.”
