In a telephone conversation with the composer, the President said that Ms Pakhmutova’s works came to symbolize a whole era, and today too people of different generations love and cherish her songs.

Mr Medvedev wished the composer good health, success and inspiration and said that he has signed an order awarding her the Order for Services to the Fatherland, I degree.

Alexandra Pakhmutova has written over 400 songs and the scores for twenty films, as well as a ballet and symphony concerts and suites.
