The two presidents discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, security, relations between Europe and Russia, and preparations for the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. They also addressed current international issues, particularly the situation around Iran and Middle East peace settlement, as well as the schedule of bilateral contacts.
The two leaders met on the sidelines of the celebrations marking 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
