Vladimir Putin expressed deep condolences to the family and friends of Vladimir Etush over the actor's death.
The message reads, in part:
“Vladimir Etush, a war veteran who volunteered to the front and a courageous and honest man, has passed away.
He was a true national artist and a real legend of the renowned Vakhtangov theatre school. He was known and loved by millions of people for his dedication to his calling and his impressive performances on stage and on screen, and for his ever youthful spirit and abundant talent.“
Vladimir Etush passed away in Moscow on March 9 at the age of 96.
