Dmitry Medvedev was briefed about rail accident in Tver Region

The President instructed Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu to take all necessary measures to assist the victims. He also instructed Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov and Prosecutor General Yury Chaika to conduct all necessary investigations and determine the causes of the accident.

The Nevsky Express train carrying hundreds of passengers from Moscow to St Petersburg derailed Friday night at around 9.30 p.m. local time, killing dozens of people and injuring scores of others.
