Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 30th Rossiya Open Documentary Film Festival being held on October 1–6 in Yekaterinburg.
The message reads, in part:
“Your festival has a big and wonderful history. For many years it has fulfilled an important creative and educational mission, presenting to audiences high quality, serious documentaries based on real historical facts and events. It is impressive that the festival invariably lives up to the expectations and facilitates the preservation of the best traditions of documentary, non-fiction films.
I am confident that the current anniversary festival will take place in a friendly atmosphere of creativity and professionalism. Striking and interesting films, by both recognised filmmakers and those that are just starting their careers in art, will be presented to an experienced jury.”
