October 22, 2019, Sochi

Vladimir Putin received the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived in Russia on a working visit, at the Bocharov Ruchei residence.

The two leaders discussed developments in Syria, including ways to normalise the situation in the northeast of the country, to counter international terrorist groups and advance the political settlement process.

In addition, the leaders exchanged views on the statements made by Washington and Ankara regarding the developments in Syria.

Russian-Turkish talks were held both in a limited format and with members of the two countries’ delegations. Following the international consultations, which lasted several hours, the presidents adopted a memorandum of understanding between Russia and Turkey and made press statements.
