Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants and guests of the From Knowledge to Action International Humanitarian Research Forum that brought to Moscow representatives of the academic and expert communities from Russia and abroad.
The message reads, in part:
“Today, in the age of tremendous progress of advanced and innovative technologies, the value of humanitarian knowledge and sciences is steadily growing. Humanitarian sciences are an integral part of the fundamental education that in no small measure forms the belief system of the young generation and teaches young people to be faithful to the unshakeable spiritual and moral values and humanistic ideals. Along with the development of natural sciences, they serve as a key factor in the successful solution of priority national tasks.
And, of course, the humanitarian aspect plays an important role in boosting fruitful international cooperation. Constructive interaction in this sphere opens new opportunities for implementing joint projects and programmes in science, education, culture and volunteering; it strengthens friendship and mutual understanding between people, promotes youth and student exchanges.
I am confident that this forum will become a platform for enthusiastic and creative discussions on a wide range of issues concerning humanitarian knowledge.”
