The President of Venezuela telephoned Dmitry Medvedev on Russia’s day of mourning to express personally his profound condolences and those of the Venezuelan people in connection with the tragic events that took place on December 5 in Perm. “Your mourning is our mourning,” said Mr Chavez.
President Medvedev warmly thanked Hugo Chavez for his condolences and support.
The two leaders noted that this sort of solidarity is a reflection of the excellent relations between Russia and Venezuela that have built up in recent years.
