Vladimir Putin conveyed his condolences to the family and friends of Hero of the Soviet Union Sergei Kramarenko over his passing.
The message of condolence reads, in part:
“Sergei Kramarenko was a courageous, strong willed man, a war veteran who took part in major battles of the Great Patriotic War. After the war, he devoted his life to the development of the Russian Armed Forces, the patriotic upbringing of the country’s youth and to strengthening the great traditions of the veterans’ movement.”
Hero of the Soviet Union Sergei Kramarenko died at the age of 97.
