Vladimir Putin extended his greetings to Magomedali Magomedov, former Chair of Dagestan’s State Council, on his 90th birthday.
The message reads, in part:
“A prominent politician and public figure, a true patriot and citizen, you rightfully enjoy respect both in the Republic of Daghestan and all of Russia. For many years, your responsible, much-needed work has been aimed at the development of the economy and social sphere in your native Daghestan, and at the improvement of the wellbeing of your compatriots. Your contribution to strengthening peace and concord in the North Caucasus is extremely important.”
Magomedali Magomedov served as Chair of the State Council of the Republic of Daghestan for 12 years, from July 26, 1994, to February 20, 2006. He is Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation and holder of the Russian Presidential award for his contribution to strengthening the unity of the Russian nation.
