Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, at the Kyrgyzstani side’s initiative.
The discussion focused on topical political, economic and humanitarian issues on the bilateral agenda. The two presidents confirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the Russian-Kyrgyz strategic partnership.
Particular attention was given to countering the spread of the coronavirus infection. Sooronbay Jeenbekov thanked Russia for the timely and efficient help with overcoming the consequences of the pandemic. Russia will continue to assist Kyrgyzstan in this area.
The Russian President congratulated his colleague on Kyrgyzstan’s national holiday – Independence Day.
It was agreed to continue contacts at different levels.
