October 8, 2020

The President conveyed his condolences to the family and friends of former Federation Council member Vladimir Dolgikh.

The message reads, in part:

“Vladimir Dolgikh lived a good life of dignity, and always, both at the beginning of his professional career and as a notable politician, stayed true to his moral principles and ideals. Vladimir Dolgikh was not afraid of difficulties and never gave up. Trying to be of as much of service to Russia as possible, he always felt personally involved in its destiny. Fresh from school, he voluntarily joined the Red Army, and after the Great Patriotic War, together with the entire nation, helped rebuild the country and its economic power. His heroic war biography, enormous contribution to the development of national industry, necessary public activities and care for the generation of veterans have rightfully won him high esteem and respect.”

Vladimir Dolgikh, a Great Patriotic War veteran and a notable politician who headed the Moscow City Veteran Council in recent years, passed away at the age of 95.
