Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences on the passing of Roman Viktyuk to the company of the theatre he headed.
The message reads, in part:
“An outstanding stage director, a real Master and Creator, Roman Viktyuk was noted for his incredible inner freedom, which allowed him to daringly break dated stereotypes that might have hindered his movement along his chosen path. His talented theatre performances have enriched national and international stage art and added vibrant unique pages to the cultural life in Russia and other countries.”
Stage director and National Artist of the Russian Federation Roman Viktyuk died at the age of 84 on November 17, 2020.
