Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on the death of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.
The message reads, in part:
“The patriarch’s many years of pastoral activity brought him well-deserved respect in his country and abroad. His efforts aimed at promoting high spiritual values and strengthening the unity of the Orthodox world can hardly be overestimated.
Please confer words of sincere sympathy and support to the clerics of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the friendly people of Serbia.”
