The law provides for implementation and operation in Russia of a unified automated information system to track film screenings in cinemas. The system will allow for the protection of exclusive rights to audio-visual works and creation of a domestic film distribution market databank. The law also sets the requirements for putting a motion picture in the ‘national film’ category.
In addition, amendments were made to improve legal regulation in the film industry.
