Dmitry Medvedev and Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero exchanged Christmas and New Year greetings and best wishes.
In the course of their conversation, the two leaders exchanged opinions on a number of topical issues of Russian-Spanish cooperation, primarily in light of Spain’s presidency of the EU, as well as in other multilateral formats. The parties also confirmed their mutual desire to keep up close cooperation and regular contact at various levels in the new year.
The telephone conversation was initiated by the Spanish party.
