The congratulatory message reads, in part:

“For decades, Russia and Vietnam have been bound together by strong ties of friendship and trust that have stood the test of time.

Today our countries are strategic partners. Our political dialogue is becoming more extensive and in the current year there are a series of important meetings at the summit and high levels already planned. Our long-standing history of growing cooperation in economic and cultural spheres and the expansion of cooperation in international and regional affairs continue to flourish.

I am convinced that our concerted efforts will further strengthen Russian-Vietnamese relations for the benefit of our countries and peoples and for peace, security and stability in Southeast Asia and the Asian continent as a whole.

Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you on the upcoming lunar calendar New Year. I sincerely wish you health and new successes in your presidential activities, and prosperity and happiness for the friendly people of Vietnam.”
