Following the emergency session of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Collective Security Council (via videoconference), Vladimir Putin and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon spoke on the phone to discuss issues concerning the developments in Kazakhstan. They noted the timely and effective assistance the CSTO provided at the request of the leaders of Kazakhstan.
Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon also discussed Afghanistan, in particular, the situation at the Tajikistan–Afghanistan border.
They agreed to maintain contact at different levels.
