Best of Russia is an annual national open photographic competition in which anyone, whether professional or amateur, can take part. This was the second time the competition was held.
More than 25,000 photos from all parts of the country were entered in the 2009 competition, and the jury selected 365 from among them. The selected photographers’ ages range from 7 to 86. The photos are divided into five categories: Russia’s architecture; Russia’s nature; people; style; events and everyday life.
