The development of relations between Russia and the EU, the President of Russia’s initiative regarding a European Security Treaty, and a visa-free travel regime for citizens of Russia and EU member-states were among the subjects discussed.
These issues were considered in conjunction with Russia’s Economic Development Strategy through to 2020 and the EU development strategy for 2010–2020.
Within the Partnership for Modernisation initiated by the Russian President at the EU-Russia summit in Stockholm [on November 18, 2009] Dmitry Medvedev and Felipe Gonzalez discussed the prospects for cooperation between Russia and the EU.
