Mr Medvedev gave his support to Mr Nazarbayev’s initiative to hold an OSCE summit in Kazakhstan in 2010.

The two presidents also discussed bilateral cooperation.

Mr Nazarbayev is in Russia on a short working visit.

With Kazakhstan currently holding the presidency of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Mr Nazarbayev put forward the proposal at a meeting of the organisation’s Permanent Council to convene an OSCE summit for what would be the first time in the last 11 years.
