Vladimir Putin congratulated commanding officers and troops of the 488th Sergo Ordzhonikidze Guards Motorised Rifle Simferopol Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Regiment on being granted the honourable title of Guards.
The message reads, in part:
“This is a great honour and recognition of your special merits, as well as the wide-scale heroism and courage you have displayed while protecting your Fatherland and guarding the sovereignty and state interests of Russia. Capable and decisive actions taken by the regiment’s troops during the special military operation in Ukraine are clear examples of what it means to the fulfill one’s duty, displaying courage, self-sacrifice, and high professionalism.”
