Vladimir Putin congratulated the personnel and veterans of Russia’s Airborne Forces on their professional holiday.
The message reads, in part:
“You have the great honour of serving in the legendary “winged infantry,” belonging to this close-knit, invincible cohort. Paratroopers have always been strong in character and will, fearlessness and brotherly solidarity, and readiness to defend the Fatherland at a word.
The current generation of soldiers and officers continues with dignity the military and patriotic traditions formed in the troops, invariably demonstrating professionalism, courage and bravery in tackling complex tasks. And of course, the skilful and resolute actions of the airborne heroes have been on full display during the special military operation.
I am sure that you will continue to reliably guard the national interests of the country and make a significant contribution to strengthening the combat power of our Armed Forces.”
