Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Cross the Nation 2022 Russian National Running Day.
The message reads, in part:
“Following years-long traditions of the national fitness movement, Cross the Nation has become one of the most popular nationwide sporting events. Today, it brings together ambitious and motivated fitness enthusiasts who chose an active lifestyle. And, of course, it is important that the National Running Day is constantly expanding its borders and engages an increasing number of people, some of them taking part in the event with their families.
I should note that the experience brought by Cross the Nation as well as other nationwide competitions is clear evidence that an increasing number of people is choosing a healthy lifestyle, with sports stadiums, playgrounds and clubs, as well as amateur competitions and tournaments, becoming ever more popular. This is a good and positive trend that we will definitely support.”
