“Your unique northern region has been famous for centuries for its distinctive folk crafts, ancient spiritual shrines and architectural masterpieces which are rightfully considered an invaluable part of national and world heritage, and, of course, for the hard work and skill of its people, their generosity, magnanimity and hospitality.

It is gratifying that you treat the richest historical and cultural heritage of the Vologda Region with care and deep respect, strive to stand up to the problems facing the region. I am mainly referring to the modernisation of the local enterprises and the creation of modern high-tech industries, the support for the local business activity, the development of transport and tourism infrastructure, and the implementation of much-needed projects in the social sphere.

I am confident that your energy and initiative, and your sincere love for your native land will continue to help you attain your goals.”
