Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the current and former staff of the Central House of Scientists, and to participants in the event marking its centenary.
The message reads, in part:
“Throughout many years, the legendary House of Scientists has occupied a bright and truly unrivalled place on the map of our capital’s historical and cultural landmarks. It is a true centre of gravity for the academic and creative communities of our country. The House takes pride in many generations of its staff – highly qualified professionals, genuine devotees and enthusiasts with a boundless loyalty to their chosen cause.
It is gratifying that you have deep respect of the rich historical and spiritual heritage of your predecessors and are set to preserve the current traditions and the warm and truly friendly atmosphere which reigns in the old mansion. Today, its walls host concerts and literary evenings, as well as various clubs and studios where colleagues and good friends can gather – in short, it is brimming with life.”
