Greetings to 24th World Russian People’s Council, Orthodox Christianity and the World in the 21st Century

October 25, 2022

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants in the 24th World Russian People’s Council, Russian Orthodox Church and the World in the 21st Century.

The message reads, in part:

“Today, when we are facing serious challenges, the issue of uniting our people around important, major tasks of strengthening Russia’s spiritual, cultural and economic sovereignty are acquiring a life-defining importance. In this regard, I want to note the huge, colossal contribution of the Russian Orthodox Church, representatives of all traditional religions in Russia, and, of course, patriotic organisations such as the World Russian People’s Council, to uniting society, preserving spiritual, moral and family values and ideals, preserving our historical memory and identity and educating the youth.

I know that many of you support our warriors who are taking part in the special military operation and provide selfless help to the residents of Donbass, the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions and demonstrate with your deeds that only a close-knit nation, united by common goals can withstand the unprecedented external pressure we are facing with dignity and reach all strategic goals.

I am sure that your forum will take place in the spirit of mutual understanding, while your proposals and initiatives related to the development of education, demography and preserving our people will definitely be very relevant.”
