Greetings on opening of Soobshchestvo Forum of Active Citizens, National Unity: Sovereignty, Creation and Justice

November 2, 2022

Vladimir Putin sent his greeting to the participants in the final Forum of Active Citizens Soobshchestvo (Community), titled National Unity: Sovereignty, Creation and Justice, traditionally held ahead of National Unity Day.

The message reads, in part:

“Your forum is strengthening its creative potential every year, rallying more and more supporters around the serious tasks that need to be addressed. These are energetic and caring people with an active civic stand who are not afraid of challenges and who are trying to be practically involved in our country’s life, to contribute to bringing up the younger generation and to resolving current development challenges in their native cities and villages.

I would like to emphasise that over 160 events have been held in the federal districts this year and that delegates from all over the country, including Russia’s new regions, have come to Moscow for the forum’s final meeting today. You will review your achievements, exchange experience and, of course, discuss vital issues than need a consistent approach. I am referring, in part, to the involvement of the Civic Chamber of Russia, NGOs, volunteer and other organisations in implementing national projects, establishing reliable feedback mechanisms and supporting people’s initiatives.

It is notable that the consolidation of our society has become especially important in the current situation of unprecedented pressure. I am confident that only by standing together will we be able to properly respond to any challenges and to confidently deal with the most complicated issues.”
