Visit to Federal Centre for Brain and Neurotechnology

November 9, 2022, Moscow

Vladimir Putin visited the Federal Centre for Brain and Neurotechnology at the Federal Medical-Biological Agency in Moscow.

The President was accompanied by head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova and the director of the FMBA Federal Centre for Brain and Neurotechnology, Vsevolod Belousov.

Vladimir Putin visited the neurosurgery department where he watched an operation on the open brain and non-invasive surgery with focused ultrasound – a device that allows surgeons to perform high-tech neurosurgeries without excessive invasiveness.

In the rehabilitation department, the President was shown, among other things, patient treatment using a virtual reality rehabilitation simulator, while in the radiological and radionuclide diagnostics department, he visited the radionuclide preparation production zone.

In addition, the President familiarised himself with the activities of the Scientific-Industrial Complex of Personalised Medicine that allows physicians to conduct treatment with customised medications.

The Federal Centre for Brain and Neurotechnology was established in 2020 and is a leading organisation in the FMBA specialising in neurology, neurosurgery and the treatment of cardiovascular disorders. Bed capacity is up to 8,500 patients a year.
