The second day of the G8 summit was devoted to discussing the problem of climate change

During the working meeting the prospect of reducing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere by half by 2050 was discussed. Participants in the meeting expressed their intention to encourage such countries as China and India to contribute to this goal.

Leaders of the G8 countries discussed the prospects of the global economy and the world financial system and problems of security.

The document listing the summit’s principal concerns comprised five areas: The World Economy, The Environment and Climate Change, Development in Africa, International Institutions, and Political Questions.

The subject of addressing the world food crisis was dealt with in a document called World Food Security.
