The law amends the Federal Law On Electrical Energy. Under the amendments, thermal power stations using accompanying gas or its processed products as their main fuel will be granted priority access to Russia’s wholesale electricity market.
Implementation of these new provisions will help to reduce the negative effects of gas flaring on the environment.
