Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said at the Oman side’s initiative.
During this top-level bilateral contact, the first since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the sides reviewed the current status of Russia-Oman interaction and its development prospects in great detail. They specifically focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects, including in transport and logistics.
The heads of state also exchanged opinions on the situation in the Middle East region.
The President of Russia congratulated Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said and the people of Oman on the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
It was agreed to continue personal contacts and dialogue at different levels.
