Vladimir Putin sent greetings to President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the Day of Unity between the Peoples of Russia and Belarus.
The message reads, in part:
“Relying on the good traditions of friendship and neighbourliness that bind Russians and Belarusians, our countries and peoples are gradually expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. We are also working hard to improve the mechanisms of the Union State.
Despite the unprecedented external sanctions pressure, we effectively coordinate efforts in the international arena and in the field of defence and security, and successfully implement programmes to strengthen our financial, economic, scientific and technological sovereignty.
I am confident that further efforts to build up the entire range of allied ties fully meet the interests of our fraternal peoples.
I sincerely wish you good health and success, and I wish all Belarusian citizens happiness and prosperity.”
