Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian geologists and the sector’s veterans on Geologists’ Day.
The message reads, in part:
”You have devoted yourself to a difficult but extremely important profession that requires deep and thorough knowledge, perseverance and dedication.
Strengthening of the national industrial and energy potential, growth of economic indicators and the quality of people’s lives largely depend on your responsible approach to work. And of course, your work promotes fundamental and applied scientific research aimed at developing our country’s mineral resources and forecasting geological processes and phenomena.
Today, geology specialists are facing serious, large-scale tasks, key among them being the implementation of projects to develop deposits in Eastern Siberia, the Far East and the continental shelf, and efforts to ensure Russia's energy and raw materials independence.
I am sure that you will continue to work diligently, widely implement modern technology, make full use of the unique experience of your predecessors and achieve significant results for the benefit of the Fatherland.”
