Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants in the 12th Conference of the Russian Union of Veterans nationwide public organisation, who met to sum up the results of the Union’s work over the past five years.
The message reads, in part:
“A worthy successor to the Soviet Committee of War Veterans, the Russian Union of Veterans honourably continues the cause of its predecessors. The Union, which brings together brave, energetic and dedicated people, is actively involved in the country’s public and cultural life, in implementing important educational, cultural, humanitarian and charity projects. Support for veterans and their families, patriotic education of young generation and efforts to prevent the falsification of historical truth are a particularly important aspect of your activities.
Of course, I would also like to highlight the Union’s sincere concern for our service personnel involved in the special military operation and veterans living in new Russian regions.”
