Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the Second International Yury Gagarin Festival.
The message reads, in part:
“I feel genuinely pleased that your project has become a success and gained widespread public support and that the current festival has already united not only Kuzbass residents but also guests from Russia’s cities of labour glory and a number of foreign states.
A plethora of events, including exhibitions and workshops, discussions and contests, excursions and research conferences, tell the story of the courage and bravery of conquerors of the Universe, the latest achievements of the national space industry, renowned scientists, designers and engineers. Last but not least, the festival fulfils a high educational mission: it popularises knowledge of space, first and foremost, among young people, inspires them to achieve their goals, make discoveries for the benefit of the Motherland, and make their dreams come true.
I am confident that the festival will be held at the highest organisational and creative level, attract the attention of representatives of different ages, professions and interests and will be remembered by all those present for a long time.”
