The President met with Mr Alferov, vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences and winner of the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics, presented him with a state decoration, and discussed scientific development in Russia with him.
Mr Alferov was awarded the Order for Services to the Fatherland, IV degree, by Presidential Executive Order, thus becoming a full cavalier of this order, which has four degrees.
