Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the leaders of Abkhazia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Ossetia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and to the people of Georgia and Moldova on the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In his greetings, the President of Russia noted that on this remarkable day, we pay tribute and express deep gratitude to the people whose unparalleled feats on the battlefield and selfless work on the home front contributed to crushing the Nazi invaders and protecting the freedom of their motherland.
“Our moral duty today is to reverently safekeep the traditions of friendship and mutual help inherited from our fathers and grandfathers, to prevent the distortion of historical truth about the Great Patriotic War, along with the justification of Nazis, their henchmen and present-day ideological successors,” the messages read.
The Russian leader stressed that the spiritual legacy of the Great Victory would continue to be instrumental in the strengthening and fruitful development of relations between our countries and nations.
Vladimir Putin offered words of genuine gratitude to all Great Patriotic War veterans and home front workers, wishing them good health, high spirits and a long and happy life.
