Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.
The discussion focused on the key aspects of the further development of bilateral strategic partnership.
Issues related to the well-known African initiative to find ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict were also discussed, and it was agreed that Vladimir Putin would soon receive a delegation of a number of African heads of state.
The two leaders also touched upon the preparations for the second Russia-Africa summit scheduled for late July in St Petersburg and the upcoming BRICS summit in Johannesburg in August. They expressed commitment to continuing close coordination between Russia and South Africa on international platforms.
